A busy period came to an end for the BBM&L crews over the weekend of 17 August, with the most recent inflation being undertaken by Neil Ivison by inflating the Ikea Special Shape 120 on behalf of the Museum – this requires plenty of help to get out of the bag and then pack away! With perfect conditions on the Northampton Racecourse this was achieved successfully late afternoon on the Saturday, followed by the latest acquisition, G-FELT, being inflated in the glow later in the evening!
Earlier in the day a ballooning achievement was accommodated in that both Bertie Bassett special shapes, plus the round balloon inflated at the same time (not part of the BBM&L collection) – now that required a lot of help! A great weekend with plenty of flying action taking place giving very favourable weather conditions for ballooning, and thanks to Chris Freeman and Matt Rate for putting it all together!
