BBM&L Model Balloon Celebration Inflation, Bristol Fiesta 2026.
Once again the British Balloon Museum & Library will be represented at the Bristol Fiesta, not only by bringing a ‘grown up’ balloon in the form of the Omega 56 named ‘Nimble’, planned to be inflated by Jonathan Harris over the weekend, but also a celebration with the inflation of a model balloon G-HONY which was donated to the BBM&L in April 2022!
Sadly, David & Ann Thomas have both now passed away (Ann earlier this year) but over many years were big supporters of the Museum, and after David passed away his model balloon G-HONY, a Lilliput Type 1 Srs.A, and associated equipment was donated to the Museum for which we were extremely grateful! Another model balloon, but in the form of bear shape G-GRWL being a Lilliput Type 4 SS Bear, (we believe both models were built originally by Andy Booth) who has kindly agreed to bring the bear to Bristol to ‘join forces’ so we can have a small memorial inflation of the two models in recognition of David and Ann’s support to the BBM&L over many years!
