Inflation Day 2026
Time certainly flies quickly, and I find myself already putting the early plans together for the next BBM&L Inflation Day event in 2026! The chosen date, and approved by David, is 25th April 2026 so save it to your electronic diaries and make plans to attend! Here’s hoping the weather is kind to us – weatherman John Crawford has already made a booking for good weather – it’s worked in previous years so there’s always hope!
The reason for this early notification is that this will be the last ID event held at Pidley! David Hopkins has kindly approved the 2026 event but due to changes on his estate it will no longer be practical to be held on his site, mainly due to future building plans and consideration to the occupants of the new houses, but for 2026 it will be on the site we have used for the last two events! We are going to incur some additional costs so entry charges may have to be raised to compensate – toilets being the primary contender as the facilities we have had in the past are no longer available! David has been such a fantastic host over the years we are just pleased to be able to have a final event at Pidley! This will be the eighth ID held there, the first being in 2010 (missed 2020 due to Covid) – the first six being on the Lakeside Golf Driving Range with the last two being on David’s land!
So, as I started this article by saying ‘how time flies quickly’, well time will pass quickly, so the search begins for a new location! Logistically due to where the Museum balloons are stored it would be ideal to be not far away, but any suggestions would always be considered!
Hopefully we can make this 2026 event a grand finally at Pidley, David having played host for so long, and a fantastic host at that, for which the BBM&L is extremely grateful!
