Description:

A Cameron A-140, serial number 45, named Cumulonimbus. First flown on 11 August 1972, Saltford, Avon. Built for Don and Mark Yarry for the first hot air balloon crossing of the Alps on 21 August 1972. It was the largest balloon Cameron's had built at that time. Initially registered as G-AZUW it was re-registered on a number of occasions. Pictured here at the Worlds at Albuquerque in 1973 as G-AZUW. Photograph of this balloon was used for the BBAC logo, designed by Christopher Lewis-Smith. Logbook not held by BBM&L. Hours flown - 181.
