Balloons at Inflation Day 2026

This page will serve as a place to come to learn which balloons we plan to bring to Inflation Day 2026 from the museum collection.

We are lucky to have lots of enthusiastic helpers so you can expect a fine turn out on the day!

The latest balloon expected at Inflation Day is G-CCAR, a Cameron N-77 made in 1978 and carries ‘Mitsubishi Motors’ branding. Donated by Alan Turner in 2013.

The latest balloon expected at Inflation Day is G-LOAG, A Cameron N-77 made in 1977 and carries ‘Famous Grouse’ branding.

 

The latest balloon expected at Inflation Day is G-BXCN, a SKY 104-24 made in 1996 and donated by Nottingham & Derby Hot Air Balloon Club. Thanks go to one of their members Robin Macey who facilitated the donation.

The latest balloon expected at Inflation Day is G-BWTU, a Lindstrand 77A built in 1996 and bearing Land Rover branding. Thanks to Mark Warne for the donation.

The latest balloon expected at Inflation Day is G-BUBL, a Thunder AX8-105 made in 1987 and bearing the Mercier Champagne branding.

The latest balloon expected at Inflation Day is G-BSXM, a Cameron V-77 made in 1991 named ‘YoYo’

The latest balloon expected at Inflation Day is G-BVBJ.  a Colt SS Flying Jar balloon built in 1993 and carrying Maxwell House branding.

The latest balloon expected at Inflation Day is G-BNBW, a Thunder AX7-77 built in 1986 and carrying the Mutley/Prudential branding.

The latest balloon expected at Inflation Day is G-BMVI, a Cameron O-105 made in 1986 and originally carrying the ‘Securicor’ branding.

The latest balloon expected at Inflation Day is G-BGPF, a Thunder 56 Z  made in 1979

 

G-BGOD a colourful COLT 77A built in 1979 and known as ‘Harvey Wallbanger’

G-BBLL is a Cameron 0-84 built in 1973  affectionately known as ‘Boadicea’ and donated by Mike Betts.
