A fictional novel written by the well-known aviation historian Charles Harvard Gibbs-Smith. His obituary in The Times described him as "the recognised authority on the early development of flying in Europe and America"

Set in 1907 and features a steam car called ‘The Silver Steamer’ , a gas balloon called 'Brunnhilde' and a poodle called 'Julius' with romance and aristocrats thrown in.
