'The Flying Sculptures Project is a present from the City of Vienna to the skies of the world.' so says the introduction to this book.  The brainchild of artist André Heller, the balloons were made by Thunder and Colt in Oswestry and operated by The Hot Air Balloon Company Limited of London.

Between August 1986 and August 1987 the Flying Sculptures were flown across the skies of 60 cities in Europe, Japan and North America.
