The Dangerous Sort contains the best of  a balloon called Jambo. It records the invasion of a funeral, getting a 76-year old passenger down in one piece, the hazard of being shot at and the peril of a disintegrating basket. Other crises involve a passenger injured after landing on a mountainside. and flying through a control zone. But on each flight there is exhilaration and enchantment for a balloon is always beautiful and offers an unparalleled view of the earth on which we live.
The photos were taken from every angle: above, below, from the side, and from the inside of the basket, looking up, down and about.
Here she is, with her passengers, crew and pilot: the most famous balloon of our time. Thousands have seen each flight. A hundred million have seen the BBC TV film of Jambo's flight over the Alps. TV films of her flights were shown in 25 different countries. The book about her African Safari was translated into twelve different languages. When she returned to England from Africa, she was the only private balloon in the UK and her pilot the only person holding a British balloon licence.
