Circular dial giving height in 100's feet, 1000's feet and 10000's feet. Has a dial at the base to calibrate for ground level above sea level. Instrument is set in a slightly larger surround to enable it to be fixed to the aircraft.

Description:

A Smiths MK19B altimeter, ex RAF, used to measure the balloon height.  The dial at the base allows the ground height to be calibrated for height above sea level.
