Inflation Day 2008
Inflation Day 2008 was blessed by dry conditions and fairly light winds, and several local and rarely seen balloons ventured out for an airing.
As with most events, we would like thank a number of organisations and indivduals - the owners of Kirkby Lonsdale Rugby Club for allowing us to use their superb site, LAAS International for once again making a financial commitment to the meet, and David Seex for his support.
This year entries included a Portugese registered special shape and a rarely seen truck, whose owners we thank for bringing them along.
Thanks are also due to members of the BBM&L Council who prior to the day retrieved envelopes from the store and from local "keepers", as well as to those who manned the gate from an unearthly hour or inflated over 60 envelopes for the museum. The day as a whole would not have happened without the organisational skills of Caroline and Andrew Gibson and Tim Turner.
